About Us:

How it Began:

In 2002, the vision of Calabash Creamery began with husband and wife team, Greg and Kristi Hansen.  Sensing the growth and potential, they choose Calabash as the home for their new business.  Greg & Kristi decided to put their former professions to “pasture” and venture into a new direction. They enrolled and graduated from “Carpigiani Ice Cream College” where they learned the tricks of the trade.  On July 22, 2003 the Calabash Creamery opened its doors to the public.  Since then, they have been featured is several magazines and newspapers and awarded the BEST ice cream in Brunswick County, Greg and Kristi are very thankful to all of the local and out of town guests that have welcomed Calabash Creamery into their hearts and families.

Meet Our Mascots:

Scoop and Dip have become as popular as our Award winning Ice Cream.  Each year 1000’s of customers take family photos with our two beloved cows.  When the Calabash Creamery opened, they hosted a “Name the Cow” contest, and Scoop was the perfect choice.  A few months later, a calf joined Scoop,  Dip was the only logical choice for a name.

We also have C.C. the Cow.  He makes appearances for birthday parties, local parades and special events.

This is an e-mail from one of our wonderful customers. Thanks for your kind words and making us a part of your family traditions!

Hello,
We definitely love your ice cream and the relaxing experience that you provide. Visiting The Creamery is one of the many highlights of our yearly vacation. We always suggest it to our friends and family when they vacation at the beach. We started enjoying your business after my husband read about it in one of the Our State magazine issues.
I really appreciate your efforts to make me some Sunset Peach before we left on Saturday. Apparently our vacation was during the last week of June last year and ran into July.

How do you create your new flavors? We were discussing the many flavors offered one evening as we were enjoying the ocean view. My mom would like a new nutty flavor.
My husband absolutely loves the Plantation Praline. He can't make himself get anything else. In fact, we laughed at him on Friday night because he had eaten supper and wasn't very hungry, but insisted on getting his two scoops before we left. He almost made himself sick. We told him he could have went with just one scoop.

Hope you have a wonderful summer.

Sincerely,
Cindy Fulbright
