Proudly serving North Andover and the surrounding area.
1025 Osgood Street, North Andover, MA 01845

North Andover's Only Homemade Ice Cream!

We're open year round at our beautiful new location, at 1025 Osgood Street in North Andover. Come on by and have a taste of the best homemade ice cream in the area!

Our hours are Sunday: 1pm to 9pm, Monday through Friday, 2:30 to 9pm, Saturday, noon to 9:30pm,

Mad Maggie's North Andover Store We're located right across the road from the Butcher Boy shopping plaza and the Lawrence Municipal Airport. Please see our Contact Page for more information. In our five years of operation we've developed a reputation as the place for ice cream aficionados to find the best homemade ice cream in the area. Our ice cream has won awards at the 2004 and 2005 NICRA national conventions.

We like to think we're a little different than most other ice cream stores in the area. Our focus isn't on making a huge profit, but rather on making the best ice cream that we possibly can, and running a store that's friendly, involved in the community, and just a bit zany.

We make our own ice cream on site, so that we can offer unusual, distinctive flavors. We try to run our store with a bit of fun in mind -- we love being able to greet our regulars by name, and to talk with them about new ideas for flavors we can offer.

Thanks for visiting our site, and we hope you enjoy the experience. Take your time, browse around, there's plenty to see here. Make sure to visit our Photo Gallery for some interesting shots that we've captured over our first few years of operation. Sign our guest book to let us know what you think. Browse our flavors -- you can even offer a suggestion for one that you would love to see us try.

If you find anything that you think we could improve, don't be shy about sending us an email to tell us about it!

Mad Maggie's School Fundraising

November 10th, 2008

We learned of a very interesting fundraising idea from a friend of ours in the ice cream industry, so we're trying out the idea here during the winter of 2008/2009.

This is a chance for school organizations to take advantage of our store to help them raise funds for their members.

Since our store is normally closed on Mondays during the offseason, we decided to make the store available to school groups. We'll open the store to your organization, you promote the event, and provide volunteers to help run it, and we'll donate 20% of that night's sales to your group.

You can read a lot more information about this program right here on our website.

Don't delay -- we expect dates to fill up quickly, and we're only committing to 13 fundraising days, so get your group organized, line up your promotions, and let Mad Maggie's help you raise the funds your group needs!

Fall Flavors Are Here!

September 19th, 2008

There's a chill in the air, and that can only mean one thing: Mad Maggie's famous fall flavors are here!

Fall is the time of year when we have some of our most distinctive flavors available:

  • Pumpkin Gingersnap: This is one of our best flavors, in my not-so-humble opinion! A friend of mine introduced me to his version of this flavor several years ago. I liked it, but didn't think the basic pumpkin base tasted good enough.

After a bit of pondering, it occurred to me that my Mom makes a great pumpkin pie, so I took her pie recipe, adapted it to ice cream, and BANG! It was perfect!

The complementary flavors of the pumpkin base with that of the gingersnap cookies mixed in work perfectly together. Come on by and try some, and make sure to pick up a quart to take home for your holiday parties!

  • Apple Pie: Eating this flavor is like enjoying a huge slice of apple pie a la mode. If you close your eyes, you'll swear that's what you're eating!
  • Chili-Chocolate: Made with real Habenero peppers (supposedly, 30 to 50 times hotter than Jalapenos), this is one flavor that packs a punch! It's an interesting taste, as upon taking a bite, most people taste the sweetness of the chocolate in the front of their mouth, then five to ten seconds later, experience a pleasant, spicy, burning sensation in the back of the mouth.

This isn't a taste for everyone, but if you love hot, spicy foods (or if you just want something to warm you up inside) give it a try!

So come on by and try one of these great flavors, available for a limited time!
